He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds;
my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea.

He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being by the way he rests against my leg;
by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile;
by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.)

When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive.
When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile.
When I am happy, he is joy unbounded.

When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags.

Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful.

He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion.

With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace.
He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant.

His head on my knee can heal my human hurts.
His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things.

He has promised to wait for me...whenever...wherever--
in case I need him.
And I expect I will--as I always have.

Recommended Heartworm Prevention Use

Shake well before each use. IF in a highly invested mosquito/heartworm area (Eastern United States), the HWF protocol is to give HWF twice each day for 7 full days, then stop for 7 days, continue twice/day for 7 full days, alternating every other week with the twice daily dosing and a week of no dosing throughout the duration when mosquitoes are an issue. Use the same amount as on the chart above based on the weight of the pet. Be sure to monitor the weight of growing puppies to make sure they are getting the correct dose.

IF in a low to average infested heartworm area (Western United States), the HWF heartworm preventative protocol is to use the HWF twice each day during the 1st week (7 full days) of each month. Use the same amount of HWF as indicated in the chart above based on the weight of the dog.

There are numerous supplemental natural heartworm preventative measures you can take to help strengthen and boost your dog's immune system to help prevent heartworm disease. Here are a few natural preventative measures to consider for your canine companion:

Excellent nutrition is always important. Excellent quality nutrition supports a healthy happy body and the immune system. The healthier we and our companions are the greater the chance our and their bodies will stay strong and healthy so we can fight disease more easily. If you have not already considered doing so, feeding species appropriate nutrition is excellent for your beloved canine companion. Hawthorn berries - Supplement your furry friend's diet with hawthorn berries. Hawthorn strengthens and stabilizes the heart. We have found hawthorn berries is one of the ONLY herbs our canines will willingly consume. I like to grind the dried berries fresh or give them whole. Hawthorn & Dandelion is excellent for strengthening and supporting the heart.
Food grade diatomaceous earth - is an excellent natural way to eliminate all intestinal worms - rounds, whips, hooks, tapeworms, so feed daily, it will keep your furry loved one (and you for that matter) stronger and healthier. If your dog has no intestinal worms, she/he will absorb the nutrients from her/his food more fully which will help keep the immune system strong. More information about food grade diatomaceous earth.
Give plant based vitamins and minerals. This will give your dog valuable nutrients it needs. Supplements that contain excellent vitamins and minerals such as Organic Kelp, Spirulina, Chlorella. They say a properly mineralized being (people, pets, or plants) will not get parasites.
Regular Daily Exercise will stimulate the circulation and helps boost the immune system.
Give Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) in his or her food or drinking water. ACV contains lots of great vitamins and minerals and has at least 101 health benefits - great for arthritis, skin, coat, digestion, mange, parasite repellent properties, etc. 1 tsp. to 1 tbsp. 2x/day in food or water. ACV is excellent for people too!
Herbal mosquito repellent sprays can be applied at dawn and dusk when mosquitos are most active.
